Roadheaders for tunneling, mining and construction

Roadheader

KAMY series of Roadheaders offers the best cutting performance in a wide range of rock formations. Equipped with geometrically optimized transverse or longitudinal cutter heads, these flexible machines can be used to excavate subway tunnels, road tunnels, railway tunnels and water tunnels without using explosives.

They are also ideal for mining coal and other soft rock minerals. They can also be used for rehabilitation of existing tunnels, and excavation of underground caverns.

Powered electro-hydraulically, they emit no fumes, which makes them suitable for underground construction projects in urban areas as well. Our roadheaders are equipped with state-of-the-art profile control, automatic sequence control system and online data processing. The roadheaders also include separate multi-purpose hydraulic cutting heads for mounting on excavators.

Roadheaders for tunneling

Increasing our business into tunnelling is our company’s strategy to become a widely known supplier for equipment that can be successfully utilized apart from roadway development in underground mining.

Currently KAMY roadheader series consists of weight classes with weights ranging from 23t to 80t and cutting power ranges from 75 kW to 320 kW.

With our new compact design, KAMY roadheaders of the lower and middle weight category have been specially adapted to the challenges posed by development drivage work in coal mines. In customized versions, these roadheaders are also used for mineral mining and tunnel projects.

Roadheaders of the upper weight class have been designed specially for use in mineral mining and tunneling.

Due to the low machine heights, the same equipment can be used to drive low-profile and high-profile roadways, such as main gates and tail gates, as well as arch-section and rectangular headings and face development headings with low roof heights.

Various special designs of the roadheaders make for optimum adaptation to nearly all requirements in mineral production as well as in tunneling.

The installed cutting performances in combination with high machine weights and the automatic stabilization system allow effective cutting in harder rock formations and high production performances in mineral mining.

The cutting boom facilitates the cutting head to sink into the face, thereby reducing wear and tear on the crawlers and helping to protect the roadway floor.

Wide carriages and the resulting low ground pressure as well as the low water consumption of the spray system facilitate maneuvering on soft and water-sensitive roadway floors. The prevention of larger water quantities in roadway drivages and production areas also favours the use, especially in inclined roadways, tunnels and extraction areas.
