Significant Results Achieved in Underground Operations at Shandong Energy Shuangxin Coal Mine

Over the years, mining activities have gradually led to the destruction of surface vegetation, while solid waste, garbage, and wastewater generated during the process have caused severe pollution to the surrounding ecosystem and soil. Furthermore, due to the failure to backfill abandoned mine pits in a timely manner, geological disasters such as land subsidence and mudslides are prone to occur in later stages, resulting in serious land degradation.

To protect the ecological environment of mining areas and promote the construction of green mines, KAMY CHINA has actively developed and promoted its independently designed underground gangue backfilling machine. Trial operations were successfully conducted underground between 2021 and 2022. In December 2022, KAMY CHINA reached a cooperation agreement with Shandong Energy Shuangxin Coal Mine, and completed underground commissioning in early 2023. The product has since received unanimous praise from mining users.

The underground gangue backfilling machine utilizes a wide belt conveyor system for material transport. The retractable belt conveyor runs in reverse, with its head positioned at the roadway entrance as the receiving end. The mobile tail, which functions as the backfilling machine’s feeding and unloading unit, serves as the discharge end.

The unloading drum assembly of the backfilling machine replaces the tail of the belt conveyor and connects to the standard H-frame of the conveyor through a clearance fit. Gangue is transported by the belt conveyor to the unloading drum, which discharges the material onto a projection belt that launches it into the roadway.

The projection belt can swing up and down, left and right, within the roadway’s width, effectively filling the entire cross-section with gangue.

Once the front section is fully backfilled, the machine moves backward by one step (approximately 4 meters). The conveyor’s belt storage and automatic tensioning device automatically tighten the slack belt.

If the travel mechanism deviates laterally from the centerline of the belt conveyor during this backward movement, the unloading drum will also deviate by the same distance, causing belt misalignment. In such cases, operators can use the hydraulic alignment control valve to adjust the deviation correction cylinder, shifting the frame toward the misaligned side until the belt resumes normal operation.

When the backfilling machine retreats at an angle to the belt conveyor, the unloading drum frame rotates around the discharge point under the tension of the belt until it aligns with the belt’s direction of force.

If the roadway floor is uneven, operators can use the leveling hydraulic valve to actuate the leveling jack piston rod, adjusting the horizontal position of the unloading drum.

Overall, through automatic correction, directional adjustment, and horizontal alignment, the unloading drum remains parallel and aligned with the drive drum of the belt conveyor, ensuring stable and continuous belt operation.

Staying true to our mission, KAMY CHINA will continue to deliver value to clients through environmentally friendly and innovative coal mining solutions.
